The Sarala Bathena Foundation was started in memory of our dear Sarala, a beloved wife and cherished mother who lost her battle with cancer. It is because of her spirit and generosity that our goal is and has always been to contribute in any way possible for a better tomorrow.
How We've Made a Difference
Your past support has allowed us to donate funds to help cancer patients at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital as well as the Red Cross Cancer Hospital in India. The Foundation is also in the process of setting up a scholarship in Jersey City and working with organizations that help at risk youth.
Our Mission
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world and everyone knows someone that has been affected by this disease. While scientists and doctors work on a cure, many people suffer through the physical, emotional and financial pain that is caused by this disease. Our goal is to ensure that people are able to afford the care they need and that money is not the reason why they choose to forgo the best course of action.
Technology is empowering people to escape poverty sooner than ever, but they still need access to quality education, especially in their formative years. Children in impoverished schools and neighborhoods also need access to the same tools that are available to their peers at large and many of them also need role models and people that they can look up to. We want to support organizations that nurture these children and help them prosper in life.
